To open a Stripe account from Turkey, you must first form an LLC company in Usa and obtain an EIN number.
Many entrepreneurs have previously opened and verified their Stripe accounts by applying the methods in this guide. Stripe continues to allow Turkish LLC company owners to open approved accounts, details are in our guide.
However, over time, Stripe has made some visual changes in the account opening steps and registration forms, so instead of changing the last part of this article, we wanted to share the most up-to-date account opening method on a clean page.
The requirements and pre-requisites are still the same and there are no changes, only some changes are made at the registration stage.
That's why we didn't transfer the requirements section from our previous article here. the requirements in the old guide , but let's give a brief summary as follows and at least see what is required:
Requirements
- An LLC company established in America: You can establish an LLC company in the state of Wyoming at an affordable price in 2 business days with Northwest, see here.
- EIN: Apply for an EIN as soon as your company is established and wait for it to be finalized. For details and application method, see here.
- A phone number with a USA area code: You can get it at a very affordable price from Zadarma. After you get your number, you can turn on the SMS feature if you want, so you can receive SMS from your virtual number. for details .
- Website: Having it in English during the preliminary phase is a bit of an advantage, but you need a website anyway. Your site must be finished and fully active. Apply with a site that complies with the policies. that are not approved in the link here , do not apply with such sites.
- A bank account opened for your company: the Wise corporate or Mercurybank options.
Once you complete the above requirements, you can open your Stripe account online from Turkey, have it approved, and start receiving payments in about 15 minutes, without the need to use a VPN or VPS.
Steps to Open a Stripe Account from Turkey
By following the steps below, first open your account and then we will talk about the steps you need to take to instantly confirm your account online.
Go to https://dashboard.stripe.com/register and choose your Email (in Gmail, it can also be your corporate email), name and surname, country, United States, and finally set a password and create the account.
By clicking the Start button, you can proceed with the steps to activate your account.
First of all, you need to verify your e-mail by clicking on the verification link sent to your e-mail.
After verifying your email, click the Activate account link at the top of the dashboard.
It should be Registered Business, United States, then enter your company's address. Continue by selecting Company in the Type of business section and Single-member LLC at the bottom.
In this step, you are asked to enter company details. Enter all information completely. Also, don't forget to enter your EIN number correctly because it is automatically verified from the IRS's database.
Choose your business category (e.g. education, e-commerce, toys, online course, etc.) and write your website address. Finally, enter a descriptive text in English about your work and products.
In this step, your personal information, that is, the company owner, is requested. Name and Surname, E-mail may be the same, date of birth, your home address (they want to know where you live, not your US business address) A telephone with a TR area code or a US area code.
Note: This part is important because it can change constantly. Sometimes you are asked to enter your SSN, sometimes there is a field where you can select your country and you reach the field where you can select TR and enter your TR ID number.
If the TR selection field appears, enter your TR number. If it does not appear and SSN is requested, enter the last four digits of your company's EIN number. (In our conversation with Stripe, it was confirmed that this could be done and this information was confirmed by them)
Select the Fulfillment section as one day and continue.
In the Support details section, write your company name, description, phone number with USA area code (phone number with USA area code is required for this section) and finally the mailing address of your company in the USA and continue.
Enter your bank account information as shown below. Enter the account and routing information of any of your Mercurybank, Relay or Wise corporate accounts and continue.
Set up two-factor login via SMS or the Google Authenticator app. Do not skip this step because you cannot end the process without doing this at the last stage. Follow one of the two methods and continue.
You can skip this option by selecting Not right now.
In the last step, you are asked to review the information you entered. If there is an area you need to make final checks and correct, correct it and click on the submit button to send the application.
Approval Process
When you log in to your Stripe panel again approximately 5 to 15 minutes after submitting the application, you will see a warning at the top of the panel that you need to confirm the credentials of the account owner.
If you do not see this warning, wait a while, you will definitely see it because since you have not yet uploaded your credentials, the account is not fully approved until you do this.
Click the Review business owner button to start the approval process.
If you remember the explanation we made at the beginning, we mentioned that sometimes there is no country selection in the ID information entry section. If it does not appear at that stage, you can enter your company's EIN number. Now you can select and enter the country TR in this field while verifying your TR ID number.
After entering your ID number, you will see that the ownership section is in pending verification status. Click on the pencil mark on the side and follow the steps below.
Press the Update button.
You should now come to the ID verification section. In this section, you will be asked to upload the front and back sides of your ID to the system separately.
Check the Upload file option. If you want, you can do this from your computer or phone camera, but high-quality photos are always approved faster.
Upload the faceplate of the ID
If the Looks good warning appears, it means that the photo will be accepted.
Install the back side in the same way.
After the upload process is completed, it will enter the pending verification status. At this stage, do nothing, wait for a while and update the page, then you will see that this warning has disappeared.
After the identity confirmation is completed, you will see that your account is fully approved on the stripe dashboard page. You will receive an e-mail within a few minutes stating that you can now receive payments.
This is how the Your account is now active message appears in the Dashboard. After this stage, you can start receiving payments.
Checking Company and EIN Approval Status
To check the approval status of your EIN number and company, go to https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/taxation.
On this page, you can see that your tax information (EIN) has been automatically verified by the IRS and the account has been verified.
Finally, what should be done? When Does Stripe Make Payments to the Bank Account?
Once your account is fully approved, you can now start receiving payments from your customers. After receiving the first payment, the process of transferring your balance on Stripe to your bank starts automatically.
In this process, your bank account is actually verified by Stripe and this process will take approximately 5-7 days.
Once your bank account is verified by Stripe, the money transfer to your bank account by Stripe will be completed.
In the next process, the payments you collect from your customers with Stripe are processed on the same day with default settings and transferred to your account the next day. If you want to transfer payments in bulk to your bank, you will need to wait for the 7-day verification process to be completed to make this setting.
To change the payment time, you can go to https://dashboard.stripe.com/settings/payouts and make the following settings.
The every day option will automatically be selected, you can change it to every week or month if you wish.
Connect Your Stripe Account to Your Shopify Store
This process is quite simple. You can integrate Stripe in 2 minutes by changing the location in Shopify settings. Here is a clear video for details.

The steps and process may seem long, but as of now, this is the most accurate, legal and reliable method of receiving payments with Stripe. VPN is unnecessary because these systems already take your ID number and address and know where you logged in from. You probably did not choose Turkey as your home address when opening the account. You should only select the company location as USA, read your residence address, select USA and enter your company address, they will ask for a USA ID.
